The average police diver completes a total of over 5000 hours of diving per year. Not for nothing does their official motto read ‘Our sky begins where yours ends’.
In carrying out their missions, State Police divers operate in the most diverse and not infrequently insidious environmental and operational contexts, from cold and rough winter seas to murky harbour bays, rivers and lakes, and even in flooded wells and tanks. These and others are the complex operational scenarios in which safety relies on two indispensable aspects: the human factor and equipment. The high level of training of divers can only be matched by the absolute adequacy of the equipment used, a context in which the diver’s watch is not a simple accessory, but an indispensable instrument to measure a time in which every moment is programmed: a device that is never affected by even the most prohibitive conditions, exposure to great depths as well as thermal and impact shocks, always guaranteeing maximum reliability.

The watch designed by Squale for police divers a special version of the 2002 series, from which the 2016 version dedicated to the State Police differs in a number of important evolutions to reflect the needs of the Diving Unit

The famous symbol of the Diving Unit, nicknamed ‘Polipetto’, is printed on the dial and engraved on the case back. This watch is one of those actually assigned to the State Police Frogmen’s Unit, this could not be bought, it is distinguished by the patent number of the diver to whom the watch is assigned.
